I’m linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for 5 for Friday…..uhh……. even though it is Sunday.
But I really wanted to share about our wonderful trip to the beach. And this link up is my favorite!!
Panama City Beach, Florida
Being a Georgia girl, it is my favorite beach. It brings back wonderful childhood memories of times here with my family and church friends.
Now, Dan and I like to take our family here every summer to help them make wonderful memories as well.
We love it!
My feet have gotten a real nice tan.
It was heavenly just sitting in my chair with an umbrella over me while I read Debbie Miller’s Teaching with Intention.
I’ve read where other people read 3-4 books while sitting at the beach, but I just can’t do that.
One book is about my limit……HOWEVER……..
As soon as it hit the market on Tuesday, my son bought Go Set A Watchman by Harper Lee and read it all in one day.
The weather was awesome all week and the water was really clear.
We saw dolphins a few times and being a teacher that was just awesome for me!!
Aren’t they precious?!?
This pic was taken right outside of a restaurant called The Sandbar.
The seafood was so good!!
We try to only eat dinner out 1 time during the week while we are there.
Call me crazy, but I LOVE to cook for my kids when we are on vacation!
and they love my food….
However, Daniel and my son in law Matthew wanted to do the cooking on Friday evening.
They went to a FOR REAL seafood market that was nearby and bought some great shrimp, mahi, and crab cakes
and cooked us all a fabulous meal!!
Here they are doing their cooking magic!!

I’m excited to get to use these activities with my own kinder cubs this coming school year!
We have to visit Alvin’s Island Souvenir shop and we have to go to a HUGE outdoor mall called
My kids always find something to buy. I have to buy it for them…..I want to keep this store in business for nostalgia’s sake!!
My poor 18month old granddaughter Virginia had a difficult time.
I should have thought about it before we went.
Bless her heart!! Alvin’s Island is such a haven for Virginia! It rouses her little senses……especially her sense of touch!!
There were just too many things to keep her entertained on the floor!!
Now…on to Pier Park…..
We love to shop around all of the little stores in and around Pier Park, but most of all, we love to eat the shaved ice at the little kiosk they have there. This one is kind of like a self serve kiosk. The girl puts the shaved ice in the cup and you pick what you want and pour it on your ice.
We even went back the next night and got a refill.
So cool and refreshing!!
Here are a few more pics of our wonderful week!
As you can see, it’s not too late to link with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday. Go ahead and try it….you’ll like it!
Have a great week!
